The UNCSD Preparatory Committee decided at its first meeting in May 2010 to "seek information, inputs and contributions including through a questionnaire addressed to member States, the UN system, international financial institutions (IFIs), Major Groups and other stakeholders, on their experiences including success factors, challenges and risks with respect to the objective and themes of the Conference."

Responses to the questionnaire were synthesized and submitted to the second Preparatory Committee in the form of a Synthesis Report, which seeks to summarize the main messages in an objective, balanced and coherent manner based on replies to the questionnaire and other statements, as appropriate. The Synthesis Report can be accessed from the right side of this page.

Because the responses contained a rich array of data and information, including links to studies and other reports, that were not included in the Synthesis Report due to space constraints, the UNCSD Secretariat has organized all responses to the questionnaires in a database, accessible from the left side menu on this page. Questionnaire responses are still being collected, and all interested actors are encouraged to contribute their experiences and views to this ongoing effort.
