Hotels for Press
Accommodation levels in Rio de Janeiro are anticipated to be at full occupancy during the conference. While it is not the responsibility of the United Nations to procure accommodation for the media, it should be noted that the Brazilian national organizing committee for Rio+20 has committed to blocking a minimum of 500 hotel rooms in Rio de Janeiro for media covering the conference. What are Sustainable Development Goals?
This brief, which addresses issues surrounding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by Columbia, Guatemala, and Peru during the Rio+20 processes, aims to remind policymakers and other stakeholders of the importance of reaching a solid outcome at Rio+20, as well as for the future. It provides a summary of ongoing discussions and informal consultations concerning SDGs, and expounds on IGESf views for a mandate and process for developing a set of universal SDGs.
