Education Hub
An education hub for the Rio Earth Summit Process ( has been launched that brings together existing key publications by young people about Rio+20; interesting campaigns being run by young people and youth led organizations together onto one page.

The goal is to get every school on the planet to teach their students about the crucial issues addressed by Rio+20. The whole website is geared towards being user friendly. The ?Home? page starts with seven jargon-free slides that summarise some of the Rio+20 issues. This is linked to posters outlining some solutions that you can share or promote.

This website is also a valuable tool because it highlights some key initiatives for action such as:
1. ?My City+20? ? Model Rio Earth Summit idea;
3. A ?Do it yourself Green Economy Transition Plan? ? for your self ? your household ? your community ? and your Nation.

The site aims to be the start of your journey into learning about Rio+20. It provides you with the key links to existing UN Rio+20 sites and to key campaigns such as the ?The Future We Want?.

The UNCSD Major Group of Children and Youth acts as an umbrella for thousands of young people, organisations, networks, communities and schools to participate in the Rio+20 Process. The NGO Peace Child International, who are the force behind the education hub, are an active part of the Major Group of Children and Youth.

Peace Child International have also included their materials. Everything from their Children?s Edition of Agenda 21: Rescue Mission : Planet Earth, to their Johannesburg update: Rescue 2002, their Copenhagen briefing: Energy Revolution. On an exciting note, they have also included 6 new Education Booklets on Sustainable Human Development prepared for Rio+20, loosely based on the UN Human Development Reports and the UNEP Green Economy briefing. All these are created by young people for young people ? based on the original UN documents, almost all of which are featured on the Background section of the site.

If you want your action or awareness-raising initiatives to be included email Simon Howlett at: Peace Child International has worked continuously on the Rio Earth Summit Agenda since 1992. They hope that Rio+20 will be the start of the road and not the end of the process towards the future we want.

Our generations challenge is to seek ? struggle ? commit ? innovate ? and energize our communities and nations for SUSTAINABILITY
