The Third Global Meeting of the Mountain Partnership
At our Third Global Meeting, the new strategy of the Partnership for the next five years will be shared. Before the Rio event, an electronic consultation will be held, with an e-forum on our website (www.mountainpartnership.org) for all Partnership members. In this electronic forum, we shall discuss ways of making our joint work more effective in response to the opportunities that mountains offer for the ?future we want?.

A Mountain Pavilion, led by the Government of Peru, will show how mountains make an effective contribution to sustainable development.

You are warmly invited to offer suggestions for events to be organized in the Mountain Pavilionavilion between 13 and 24 June 2012. These events should fall under one of the following headings:

?Adaptation to climate change and disaster reduction
?Water and mountains
?Investment in mountain regions: extractive industries, tourism, infrastructure, clean energy and land use change
?Food security, food sovereignty and gender
?Ecosystem services and biodiversity.

Please send any proposal for events in the Mountain Pavilion to Ms Rosa Morales Saravia, Advisor, Ministry of Environment of Peru, at the e-mail address pavilion@mtnforum.org.

We should be grateful if you would confirm your participation in the Third Global Meeting of the Mountain Partnership by sending a message to info@mountainpartnership.org by 11 May 2012.
