This Legal Roundtable Dialogue organised by the International Development Law Organization (IDLO), will highlight the importance of an enabling legal environment, tailored legal instruments and rights-based approaches to access just and equitable benefits of the global green economy. The Legal Roundtable will feature presentations by developing country expert jurists who will share experiences with tailored legal reforms and innovative new institutions being implemented around the world that have achieved success in meeting the economic, social and environmental objectives of sustainable development. This Legal Roundtable will showcases the latest innovations in green economy laws, focusing on new mechanisms to facilitate South-South knowledge sharing and assist countries to define their own practical green economy strategies.

The Event will feature the global launch of a new Compendium of Legal Best Practices on the Green Economy as a print and interactive online resource, and an E-learning Course on Legal Preparedness for the Green Economy. These resources focus on facilitating knowledge sharing and transfer, and building capacity to stimulate bold and decision action in support of the transition to the green economy.
