Accommodation levels in Rio de Janeiro are anticipated to be at full occupancy during the conference. While it is not the responsibility of the United Nations to procure accommodation for the media, it should be noted that the Brazilian national organizing committee for Rio+20 has committed to blocking a minimum of 500 hotel rooms in Rio de Janeiro for media covering the conference. The 111th issue of MEA Bulletin includes reports on, inter alia, the second session of the Preparatory Committee for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio 2012), the Intergovernmental Preparatory Meeting for the 19th session of the Commission on Sustainable Development, and a recent virtual meeting of the Secretariats of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora and the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals.
