Hotels for Press
Accommodation levels in Rio de Janeiro are anticipated to be at full occupancy during the conference. While it is not the responsibility of the United Nations to procure accommodation for the media, it should be noted that the Brazilian national organizing committee for Rio+20 has committed to blocking a minimum of 500 hotel rooms in Rio de Janeiro for media covering the conference. Economic Commission for Europe?s Regional Preparatory Meeting for the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD or Rio+20)
At the close of the UNECE RPM a draft Co-Chairs? summary (E/ECE/RPM/2011/2/Add.1) of the meeting was circulated for comment. Following the integration of these comments a copy of the document is to be posted on the UNECE?s website. The summary is organised around the three main issues of the RPM, namely an assessment of progress on the implementation of outcomes of major sustainable development summits, the green economy in the context of sustainable development and the eradication of poverty, and institutional framework for sustainable development.
