2005 C present Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations. In this capacity:
Deputy Head of Egypts Delegation to the 2005 Review conference of NPT
Member of the Nam Troika supervising the Movements positions, including the field of disarmament and non-proliferation since 2000
Chair of the NAM Coordinating Bureau from July 2009 for the next three years
9/1999 C 1/2005 Diplomatic adviser to H.E. the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Official Spokesman of the Egyptian Presidency.

1997-1999 Deputy Permanent Representative of Egypt to the United Nations. Chairman of the Disarmament Commission for 1999, which adopted the United Nations guidelines for the establishment of the NWFZs
1995-1997 Political Counselor of the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the United Nations and coordinator of the Egyptian delegation to the Security Council (1996-1997)

Member of the Egyptian Delegation in the first meeting of the Multilateral Track negotiations of the Middle East Peace Process held in Moscow following the Madrid Conference (1992).

Member of the negotiating team on the Implementation of the Taba Arbitral Award on the international borders between Egypt and Israel Participated in all meetings held in Egypt and in Israel on this issue resulting in the full implementation of the award.
