Accommodation levels in Rio de Janeiro are anticipated to be at full occupancy during the conference. While it is not the responsibility of the United Nations to procure accommodation for the media, it should be noted that the Brazilian national organizing committee for Rio+20 has committed to blocking a minimum of 500 hotel rooms in Rio de Janeiro for media covering the conference. The Story of Agriculture and the Green Economy
Agriculture is essential for the Green Economy. Around the world, agriculture creates 37% of employment, 34% of land use, and 70% of water use, and 30% of greenhouse gas emissions.

We need 70% more food by 2050. Farmers are principles actors in the Green Economy. We must help them build knowledge and use best practices to grow food in the quantity, quality, and diversity necessary to feed the world.
