Accommodation levels in Rio de Janeiro are anticipated to be at full occupancy during the conference. While it is not the responsibility of the United Nations to procure accommodation for the media, it should be noted that the Brazilian national organizing committee for Rio+20 has committed to blocking a minimum of 500 hotel rooms in Rio de Janeiro for media covering the conference. Moto Travesia Rio + 20
In this regard, a Motorcycle Road Safety proposal by AEMoto, written by Ricardo Rocco, has been submitted and has been accepted in this conference and should be considered for inclusion in the Transportation section of the outcome document of this event of global significance.

Rio + 20, takes place from the 20th. to the 22th. of June in Rio de Janeiro, but has a number of side events held from the 13th. to the 22th. The massive international presence of all member states of the United Nations, Governments, Major Groups, the United Nations system and other Inter-Governmental Organizations, will generate a series of events with the presence of authorities and people from around the world.

Among 493 Major Groups, AEMoto's submission is the only one about Motorcycle Road Safety, which proposes funding for a study Motorcycling in Latin America, an investigation of all aspects and facets of the motorcycle as transportation, work tool, hobby and sport. Motorcycles in Latin America provide work and inexpensive transportation for millions of citizens.

Rio de Janeiro is preparing hard to host this important event, as part of upcoming world events: the Soccer World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016.

AEMoto, with the approval of with FIM, International Motorcycling Federation, and the Ecuadorian Federation of Motorcycling, in a Ricardo Rocco Motos y Viajes production, presents the Moto Travesia Rio + 20, to be held from May 20th. for 10 weeks in a motorcycle trip of 20,000 kilometers, linking the two oceans, crossing the Andes mountains and the Trans Amazonian route twice.

The Rio + 20 Moto Travesia, that is sponsored among other companies, by Yamaha that is providing 2 XT660Z Ténéré´s, is inspired by the Decade of Action for Road Safety of the United Nations and the World Health Organization.
