This course has been developed by the Multilateral Diplomacy Programme (MDP) of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in cooperation with Germanwatch. It aims to enhance participants? understanding of the key objectives and instruments of international climate finance. Hence participants will also be provided with relevant skills and knowledge to facilitate the theme ?green economy? of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development - Rio+20.

At the end of the course participants will be able to appreciate the pertinent role of finance to policy making for mitigating and adapting to climate change, to consider and critically assess the instruments of international climate change finance, and to analyse the key challenges beyond Durban (COP17) and Rio+20 with respect to climate change finance.
